Preference is given to women enrolling in the full certification program, and to women who are engaged in perinatal work/training and/or who have done personal yogic and/or Ayurvedic practices for the last year or more. Equivalent course work will be evaluated on an individual case basis with transcript copy. Fathers or other men are welcome to take selected classes, including all of Level 1.
There are no pre-requisites for Level 1 training, but those unfamiliar with Ayurveda or Doula topics will find this link helpful.
All hands on and Protocols classes require the Level 1- Ayurvedic postpartum foundations (2 day) class. Each class or class series ends with an exam and internship homework.

OPTIONS
-
Students choosing the full CPPAD - Certification as a Postpartum AyurDoula, are required to complete the full 120 hours (including both 5 day intensives) plus internship and a postpartum basic doula training.
Three of the four Level One classes may be taken in many locations in this country, or the full 120 hours is offered in a sequence at RMIYA - Rocky Mountain Institute of Yoga and Ayurveda.
Students may choose any modules they have requisite background for with approval of faculty on a space available basis. Certificates of attendance are offered.
Correspondence Options
Classes are available in correspondence format; however note that the NAMA - National Ayurvedic Medical Association - does not recognize correspondence trainings in Ayurvedic medicine, due to the tremendous difference in learning with direct teacher contact. Extra reading and extra paid faculty phone contact hours as needed are required.
This correspondence option is offered for mothers unable to travel, and Ayurvedic professionals who already have ample credit hours to qualify with NAMA. Due to the many differences, a registration fee of $125 is required which includes personalization over the phone and internet of your program, and the appropriate record keeping variations. Level 1 and 2 certificates are awarded with completion of all requirements.
