This 165-hour certification training program is offered once every other year through the Rocky Mountain Institute for Ayurveda and Yoga in Boulder, part 1 prerequisites
is a prerequisite for the Special FAMILY Health week below.

This may be adjusted by 2-3 days to include the first half of Ayurveda 1.
Part 1, Ayurvedic Mother and Baby Care Training
Ysha Oakes(www.sacredwindow.com), PPAD 16 years; Sonya Bastow, CPPAD 6 years; Mira Murphy, Ayurvedic Chef. Foundational AyurDoula Theory and Practices for Maternal/Infant Health and Happiness.
Ayurvedic Nutrition and Cooking (ANC) will be taught during the AYurdoula INTENSIVE in NOVEMBER. It will be offered over several days during that week for best digestion and assimilation of the practice (and taste *0).
The Level 1 AyurDoula intensive covers the following units over 5.5 days:
- Ayurvedic Nutrition and Cooking (15 hours)
- Foundations of Postpartum Care and Cooking (15 hours - in kitchen class time and being personally nourished for breakfast and lunch double in an overlap on these first two units)
- Basic Postpartum Herbals (4 hours)
- Ayurvedic Infant massage (5 hours)
- Perinatal Uses of Essential Oils (about 9 hours)

Ysha Oakes will be the primary faculty. Sonya Bastow, with many years full time AyurDoula care in Boulder area, will be assisting as part of becoming a trainer. Ayurvedic Chef Mira Murphy from Sedona will be supporting us in the kitchen - she is a very grounded kitchen angel and joy to work with.

This is on your own with one of the national certifying organizations. - WOMEN'S HEALTH CARE AND AYURVEDA
This 30 hour program is required to familiarize you with related Ayurvedic resources for your clients as well as for your own potential advanced training. We serve our clients best when we know the bigger picture around our modality. It is NOT preparation for clinical training as part of your doula practice, unless you are also aiming at a Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner certification course of study. This program is offered once a year at RMIYA, in late July of 2008. It may be taken before or after the postpartum specific intensives.**those taking the Women's Health Care requirement for Ayurdoula training must take at least one of Dr. shrestha's classes along with Dr. Buhrman and Shar Lee's classes.

Dr. Sarita Shrestha was in Boulder the week of the Women's Health Intensive, extending this program to a rich offering inclusive of- 2 days on Ayurveda for Infants and Children

- 1 day on Ayurveda for Problems with Pregnancy
Class days may be taken separately, (given Ayurvedic prerequisite foundations). AyurDoula prerquisite minimum is 4 days of this FAMILY HEALTH WEEK intensive.

This special advanced and continuing education studies program covers the following units over 7 days and includes the 4 day Women's Health and Ayurveda program:
- * July 24 & 25- DR Sarita Shrestha MD OB/GYN - Ayurveda for Infants and Children
Ayurveda's approach to treating Infants and children is quite gentle. This seminar will exploreherbs and medicines which are considered appropriate vs inappropriate for infants and children as well as suitable ways to administer medicines. Also basic nutrition and health measures which promote resistance to many child hood diseases will be discussed - *July 26 & 27- Dr Sarasvati Buhrman- Women's Health day 1&2Covers balancing doshas and regularizing menstrual cycle, PMS, menstrual cramps, menopause, health and common diseases of reproductive organs, enhancing fertility, supporting pregnancy, avoiding postpartum depression.
- *July 28- Shar Lee - Asanas for pre-natal and postpartum (Women's Health day 3) Instruction in prenatal and postpartum Yoga and special Yoga asanas for women’s health.
- *July 29- Dr Sarita Shrestha **Ayurvedic approach to problems of fertility and conception
- *July 30- Dr Sarita Shrestha **Ayurvedic approach to problems of pregnancy

Dr. Shrestha is both Ayurvedic physician and OBGyn, and has directed birth clinics, supervises midwives in her area, and trained the doctors for the all Ayurveda hospital in Nepal she has founded. Dr. Shrestha's website.

Facilities
- 7 Centers in Sedona has been teaching 30 day or longer intensives for yoga teacher trainings and other programmes for many years. They have an experienced ayurvedic kitchen and cook, staff, and administrative office personell to serve your needs. They can help you find temporary lodging in the area, either in someone's home or hotels. The scenery here is amazing, as is the energy. Plan on time for hiking, meditating, and enjoying the abundant artistic local array!
