INTERNSHIP OPTIONS
EARN YOUR CPPAD - CERTIFICATE AS A POSTPARTUM AYURDOULA
- Extended Internship - AyurDoulas in Community Service
For Level II and Level I, you may now choose to work alongside an AyurDoula in service to mothers in need in the Sedona and Verde Valley, Arizona area or other clients for your practice proficiencies, and study the training materials by correspondence and alongside. Some evening classes included.This is a new option; the cost will probably be similar to the 7 Centers class with some sliding scale, not including your residence expenses. Your fee and services will be a gift to facilitate our in home care and consultations for local mothers in need financially, emotionally and physically, selected jointly by midwives, doulas, or medical community and the senior preceptor AyurDoula. We will cover the material in Level I and II as needed with clients.
- Service Internship
Complete your internship practice proficiency requirements similarly. Less hours, and fee tba and discussed individually, depending upon student readiness for graduation. Attendence at small group classes if running for the Extended Internship students is optional and free review/enrichment for those who have attended a training intensive. - Internship from a Distance
As described in your internship packet, students who have to leave the area after the intensive have found that frequent and timely phone contact with Ysha during their practice client care and their experience speaking and writing about the work with their community become strong AyurDoulas. This works if the student accepts that even, and especially when you think you know the correct answer or protocol, you are expected to conference about your experience. $175 includes 5-7 phone hours, grading of tests and review of practice logs, and administrative fees for certification. Students not concerned about certification who want this service are asked to pay a nominal $25/hour. - Student Forum and Web listing
All students who have arranged for internship payment/s are recommended to use the Student/AyurDoula forum for questions, sharing their experience, networking, etc and will be listed on the Find an AyurDoula page for your region. - Correspondence Students
If you are studying only by correspondence and complete all requirements including at least the internship from a distance option, you will be given a certificate of completion in Ayurvedic Postpartum Studies. You will also be listed on the Find an AyurDoula page, but not as an "AyurDoula", to distinguish level of direct preceptor contact study. Recommendations are open at this time for what will be an appropriate shortened title!
